February 22, 2020 Incident on Osceola Lane in Hunters Point, San Francisco CA

We write to you in an effort to clarify and correct some negative publicity that has been circulating in the news over the last few days and to ensure you that the services we provide to you have, and will always, remain superior.
As you may or may not be aware, on February 22, 2020, an incident occurred on Osceola Lane in San Francisco where an Asian-American individual was assaulted by an unknown assailant. The media has reported, or at least insinuated, that our officers were present during this assault and did nothing to intervene. This is simply untrue. To the contrary, our officers were not near the area where the incident occurred, were notified of the incident after the fact, and were on the scene within minutes after being dispatched.
Upon arrival, however, our officers were faced with a crowd in excess of twenty individuals and, pursuant to our company policies and practices removed the victim from the scene and attempted to disband the crowd. Please understand, though, that the area in which this assault occurred has a historically high rate of violence. Despite being outnumbered, the officers sought information from individuals who witnessed the events that had transpired. Yet no one was willing to provide any information to our officers and, in fact, only berated, taunted, and screamed profanities at them.
Despite the foregoing facts, the media is portraying something much different; specifically, media outlets have reported that our officers were present when the assault occurred. However, as set forth above, such a depiction is entirely false narrative. Furthermore, we released a press statement divulging the facts of our investigation to all media outlets and they have failed to broadcast the truth of our investigative efforts. Moreover, as an update, we are pleased to report that the suspected assailant has been taken into custody.
Our company’s motto is “to intervene, before something becomes critical.” To that end, please rest assured that had our officers been present during the assault, they would have, pursuant to our company’s creed, intervened immediately and those that failed to do so, would have no future with our company.
Regardless of the misrepresentation of the facts by the media, rest assured that our company takes every incident as an opportunity (and valuable tool) to further train our officers. This case is no different.
We are deeply saddened by the event that has taken place and, true to our company values, are making attempts to contact the victim and offer support in any way we can.
We value your business and hope that this letter will serve as further affirmation as to our commitment to you and the other clients we serve. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss further.
